Air Mail Saves Time Cancel: The Post Office Department began to develop an airmail service following the First World War. After experimental flights, a significant milestone was reached with July 1, 1924, regularly scheduled transcontinental flights stretching from New York City to San Francisco. This would look great framed or make an excellent addition to any collection.
