1930s Vintage Fur Leather Pompadour Hat

1930s ladies' pompadour hat with face-framing, turned-up brim trimmed in lush stone marten fur. Art Deco-inspired "v" piecework in brown suede leather on the crown. Fully lined in taffeta rayon. 

Black Petersham ribbon sweatband measures 18 inches 
Brim at the widest front 2 1/2 inches 

Kline's St. Louis label, the history of this hat can be traced back to Kline's Department store. Klines began as a millinery shop in 1890. The success of its quality millinery designs laid the foundation for its future as a full-service women’s clothing store. Kline’s were the pioneers in the development of women’s apparel stores, and they were the first to sell ready-made dresses in St. Louis.
